How it works?
- Our Coaches are USA BOXING Certified and adaptive fitness specialists... they will instruct fundamentals based off USA Boxing Coaching Curriculum and UABC standards, rules, and classifications while providing adaptive options for all fighters to safely participate
- Adaptive Fighters will learn fundamentals of how to box during adaptive boxing coaching sessions
- Light sparring is supervised by a USA Certified Boxing Coach always and is completed with 2, 3, or 4- 2 minute rounds
- Discussion, review, assessment of sparring rounds is reviewed by all fighters as a learning tool
- Points or areas of targeted contact are body (waist up) and head only (Clear scoring can be found on the USA Boxing website)
- Absolutely no sparring is completed without use of wheelchair stabilizer, Waist straps for support, Leg straps, Approved head gear, hand wraps, mouth guard, 16 oz gloves or a USA Boxing Coach present for supervision!!!
- Adaptive Boxers must be listed as an active boxer with a UABC Amateur Adaptive Boxing License to compete in competition/demonstration/exhibition matches under the UABC rules and regulations
- Requirements to be listed as an active fighter include: Full health physical and clearance by a medical dr/Government issued Photo ID/Signed Fighter Match agreement & Coach agreement as required by the UABC
- Fighters who do not abide by the Coach/Boxer agreement or are deemed to be performing activities in an unsafe manner will first be corrected and if the actions continue will be limited with activities per the Coaches discretion.
